About the Band

Formed in 1938, the Dofasco Pipe Band is the longest continually sponsored industrial Pipe Band in North America.

Sponsored by ArcelorMittal Dofasco, the Band operates out of Hamilton, Ontario. The Band practices at the Dofasco Headquarters, at the corner of Burlington and Ottawa Sts., in Hamilton. The Band generally practices Saturdays from 10:00am - 2:00pm, though dates and times may vary.

Dofasco members wear the Gordon Tartan, in honour of Huntley Gordon, a former Dofasco Vice President.

The Pipe Band tours across Ontario throughout the summer months, competing at the Grade 4 level. Soloists in the band compete at all grade levels, from Professional to Grade 5. The Band also participates in various parades and community events throughout the year.

The Dofasco Pipe Band is led by Pipe Major Tony McGuire and Lead Drummer Lindsey Crichton. The band is managed by Terry Chisholm.
